Loved by God, Empowered to Love

The purpose of Old Mission Student Ministry is to create a safe and accepting environment where students can encounter the love of God and be empowered to reflect it to others.

YOUTH GROUP

Youth Group meets in the Ark on Sundays during the school year from 5:00–7:00pm, and you’re invited! Each week, we gather for dinner, engaging worship, a relevant Bible study, and plenty of fun and games. It’s a welcoming space to grow in faith, build friendships, and be part of a community that cares. Come as you are—we’d love to have you join us!

YOUTH CONNECT

Youth Connect is for all students in 6th through 12th grade and meets every Sunday morning from 9:45–10:30am in the Ark. It’s a great opportunity to dive deeper into the week’s sermon, ask questions, and explore what it means to love God and love others. Whether you’re new or returning, you’ll find a welcoming space to grow in faith and connect with friends.

YOUTH BAND

Our Youth Band plays a key role in shaping a meaningful worship experience during Youth Group each week. Made up of passionate and talented students, the band leads us in songs that set the tone for the night and invite everyone into God’s presence. But it’s more than just music—it’s an opportunity to grow in faith, develop leadership, and serve alongside friends. Whether you sing, play an instrument, or are just eager to learn, there’s a place for you in the band.
If you’re interested in joining the Youth Band or want to learn more about how to get involved, reach out to Brett Eichman at brett@oldmission.org. He’d be glad to connect with you and help you take your next step!

Anchored in the Ark

Have you ever wondered why our youth space is called The Ark? It all started in the houses across the street from the church, where the youth group originally met. Those houses had a habit of flooding, so the space was affectionately nicknamed The Ark—a nod to Noah’s boat and its flood-proof purpose. The name stuck, and even though we’ve moved locations, The Ark continues to be a place of refuge, connection, and growth for our students.
In [insert year], the youth space moved to the second-floor room we know today, going through many iterations over the years. The most significant transformation came during the 2020 capital campaign, led by current Director of Student Ministries, Emilyane Eichman. This renovation included floor-to-ceiling upgrades, resulting in a fresh, welcoming space for youth to call home. In 2024, further technology enhancements were added, turning the room into a fully equipped worship space designed to inspire and engage the next generation.
