Old Mission Foundation

Building A Legacy of Love and Service

Faithful Stewardship for Future Generations

Since 1960, the Old Mission Foundation has been securing the future of Old Mission United
Methodist Church and its community through generous giving. Our vision is simple: faithful
stewardship to grow resources by which to create a legacy of service and love for the Church
and its community. The Foundation can serve to:
  • Provide a stable funding model for future generations. It can help create new ministries, enhance existing ministries, and spark engagement within the church and community both today and tomorrow.
  • Provide a reliable, predictable source of sustainable funding.
  • Provide additional support for church ministry, mission, and maintenance beyond what is possible in the annual operating budget.
Stewardship of the Foundation’s assets is provided by the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Requests for distributions must align with the objectives of one or more of the funds.

Impacting Lives through Ministry and Mission

The Foundation provides support for a number of ministries within the Church and community. But don’t take it from us! Discover how we’re making an impact below.

Scholarships

In the last 25 years, the Foundation has provided over $500,000 in scholarship support to members and their families to pursue post-secondary education.
“OM Foundation has helped provide me with the tools that I need to be
able to get through the semesters. Without the Foundation, I would not
be able to pursue my passion at the school of my choice.”

"Receiving the Old Mission Foundation Scholarship means many things
to me. Strictly speaking, it means that I can go and buy all of the
supplies a dance major needs that I do not receive from my school;
things such as pointe shoes, tights, makeup, and many other things. But
the strongest and most important meaning I get from this scholarship is
support from my church family to receive my education and chase my
dreams."

Missions

The Foundation provides financial support to help fund Old Mission’s signature summer kids camp, and youth mission trips, both of which benefit our children and children in the surrounding community.
"Youth Service and Learning trips are so important in students' faith
formation and worldview development. These trips are expensive, but
a student should never miss out on a trip because of the expense. I
am so grateful that the Old Mission Foundation helps to bridge the
gap between what families can afford to pay and the full cost of
youth trips. Thank you so much for keeping student ministry at Old
Mission close to your hearts and in your prayers."

Music Ministry

The Foundation has been an underwriting sponsor for special music, providing funding for professional musicians to perform with members of Old Mission’s congregation during special services and programs.
Old Mission Foundation has a long history of providing annual financial support to Old Mission music ministries. This funding elevates the level of musical and worship excellence in many ways. We are able to hire professional musicians to supplement our already skilled orchestral musicians during Easter and Christmas worship experiences.  We've also been blessed with funding to refurbish our handbells, which is a cost above what our annual budget allows and makes an amazing difference in the life of those beautiful and expensive instruments. We are so thankful to OM Foundation for the many ways they make a difference.
