Old Mission Foundation
Scholarship Eligibility

Established in 1960 and supported through the generosity of Old Mission members, the Old Mission Foundation offers post-secondary scholarships to qualifying students.
  • Applicant must be a member or the child of a member of Old Mission United Methodist Church.· The number and size of the scholarships will be at the discretion of the Foundation.
  • Scholarships will be given for a maximum of eight (8) semesters of post-secondary education per application. Students must submit a renewal application each semester.
  •  High school graduates must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale) to be considered for scholarships. Renewing applications must have a cumulate grade point average of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale) as well. If the student falls below the minimum GPA requirement, the student may reapply when the cumulative GPA of 2.75 is again met.
  • The student is expected to carry a minimum of 12 semester hours for undergraduate coursework, full-time semester hours for graduate coursework, and full-time hours for any other educational institution. If the student falls below the course load requirement, the student may reapply when the course load requirement is again met.
  • Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. If a deadline is missed, the student may apply for scholarship or renewal the following semester per usual procedures.
  • Scholarship disbursements will be sent directly to the educational institution for which the student is attending. The student will be required to provide the institution’s financial aid office’s address where scholarship check should be mailed.
  • All communications should be sent to the Foundation at Foundation@oldmission.org.
  • Scholarship checks will be sent the first week of August for the fall semester and the first week of January for the spring semester.

First-Time Scholarship Application Process

  • Complete the scholarship application with essay by clicking the button below. Attach a copy of your current transcript to your application. Application deadline is April 1.
  • Submission of a final official transcript is required prior to July 1. An electronic version sent directly from the school to the Foundation at Foundation@oldmission.org is acceptable.
  • All qualified candidates are required to interview with the Foundation Board, usually in May.
  • If your initial application is for the spring semester, those applications are due January 1 and interviews will be completed in January.

Renewal Scholarship Application Process

  • Complete the renewal application by clicking the button below. Attach copy of your transcript to the application.
  • The renewal application deadlines are July 1 for the fall semester and January 1 for the spring semester.
