Argentine Food Kitchen

The Argentine Food Kitchen is located at the Cross-Lines Annex at 646 Shawnee Avenue in Kansas City, Ks at the corner of 7th Street and Shawnee Avenue.  Churches and faith-based organizations in Wyandotte and Johnson counties and Kansas City, Missouri serve a hot meal to those in need Monday through Friday all year, except for major holidays. In 2007 the Argentine Food Kitchen served over 59,000 meals to the hungry.

Each church serves one day each month. Old Mission has been serving at the Argentine Kitchen for almost 20 years.  A group of approximately 12-15 volunteers arrives between 9 and 10 am to prepare the meal.  It may be chili, barbecue chicken, turkey, or Shepherd’s Pie.  We serve the meal from 11:30 am to 1 pm and clean-up is accomplished by 1:30 pm.
